As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I expected I would be someone who was paid for cool ideas, so I could live on a big boat with my future wife, traveling the world. (yes, really!) My amazing third grade teacher told me it was possible! -
What path did your career take before landing at ZUP?
I loved drawing and building stuff back in Kindergarten. In high school, Norman Rockwell told me to go into AC Design school and focus specifically on my future career. I jumped on a packaging internship in college where I got to be paid to make 3D prototypes and mockups. I had never been happier! Later, I eventually created a design department there before starting a business with two awesome partners. I was lucky enough to retire early to follow my current passion: combining my faith with my talents to start a sports innovation company (ahem, ZUP!) with awesome friends and partners. -

How would you describe your day job to a child?
I think up fun stuff while playing with my best friends! -
What is the best advice you have ever been given?
Don't think too long about what you love. Just start. You'll figure it out! -
Tea or coffee?
My wife likes coffee, so that's what I make first every morning! -
What is your greatest accomplishment?
Going to counseling and learning what a healthy relationship is so I could mode that to my awesome daughters. And so that I could encourage my even more awesome grandchildren to think bigger. -
What is your favorite board game?
Oh come on! The Monument Valley app could never be possible as a board game. -
Describe yourself in three words.

What is your favorite way to unwind?
I prefer to stay wound up in a fun project if I have the choice! -
What is one bucket list place you want to visit in your lifetime?
Heaven (before getting there for real, of course) so I can tell my friends what it's like. -
What motivates you?
A fun problem that aches to be solved. -
If you could eat one meal for the rest of your life what would it be?
One meal? Well it will have to be a really really big one, cause I want to live for a really long time! -
What is your favorite quote?

What character trait for you most admire?
Selflessness. I wish I could be more like my wife! -

The colorful underwear. 🤣 -
